Earl Harrison

Although the uptempo flip “Humphrey Stomp” is the side the dancers go for, label owner Camille Incardona got it right in putting the super ListenCan You Forgive as the plug side. This is a really fine mid 60s NOLA ballad with the obscure Harrison putting over the heartbreak lyric really well. Immaculate arrangement of course from the Big Q. This was leased out to Garrison records who in turn did a deal with Wand to put it out on national release – but although the Garrison 45s crop up pretty frequently do any copies of Wand 1134 actually exist?

UPDATE ~ Ana B of the excellent "Singing Bones" blog informs that the Wand 45 does indeed exist as she used to have a copy herself. I'm grateful to Ana for this info - now all I have to do is find one!
