Ogletree Brothers

The high price that this Georgia rarity commands is due to the dance interest in “Gonna Keep A Check On You”, a pleasant if unremarkable mid paced tune with a nice funky edge to it. Better to my ears though is the intended top side Falling Into Your Love. This plaintive ballad features some good harmonies from the brothers and a really well modulated lead vocal. The arrangement works well too, especially the horns. I don’t know of any other 45s on Treetop but the stereo mix on the 45 indicates a 70s date for this one.
