Tommy & Eddie
Brothers Tommy (“Buster”) and Eddie Williams had a strong history of doo wop and soul group involvement before and after they cut a couple of duet 45s. The Class 45 is a Northern stomper without much merit but the Money 45 is considerably more accomplished. “I Don’t Want Nobody” is a strong uptempo song featuring some Stax like horn charts but the cream side is I Love My Baby is a carefully wrought ballad benefitting from a fine production by Don Julian. The initial rap is well handled and the guys harmonies are pretty much faultless – a nice 45.
