Chuck & The Dots
I don’t know of any other recordings by Chuck & The Dots who hailed from Laredo, TX as the label on this little beauty makes perfectly clear – only it actually was based in Corpus Christi. The Dots were a nine man Tex Mex outfit who worked at the Air Force base nearby and had just this excellent deep track I Need You from the mid 60s. The singer was Chuck Vargas who led the group.
Like the excellent Freddy Hill and Sunny & The Sunliners the Dots were one of many Tex Mex groups who made fist class soul music.
