So you're leaving - MEL-LON 1005

Eddie Johnson

Chicago music man Mel London had a long and distinguished time in the music biz. Best known for his blues songs and productions I guess but he also recorded some fine music in the 60s especially when R & B began to morph into soul. This 45 comes from that period and it deserves to be better known. The uptempo “You Won’t Be Needing Me No More” is a really good workout – classic Windy City moving music. ListenSo You’re Leaving is slower paced but much more intense thanks to Eddie’s gruff defiance. You gotta love that Hammond B3 behind him.
