You made your bed - NEW LONDON INT 1000Joanne Murray

Eddie Bradford’s funky “You Made Your Bed” (Chess) was one of the most dance friendly tracks that was cut at the Quinvy Studios in Muscle Shoals. And you can read about it in Pete Nickols’ definitive history of the studios here. But I prefer this much more obscure version by the tough voiced Joanne Murray. The horns and drum patterns in particular seem to me to be tighter and punchier, and Joanne is a more committed singer. This was also cut in Alabama, but at the New London studio in Birmingham.
