Nelson Pigfoot
I shall continue to champion obscure and "little label" soul as I have always done - providing of course that the music is good enough to recomend. And this sole release from the obscure Nelson Pigfoot fits all of my criteria perfectly. The deep ballad So Long is a fine effort from the man, especially when he soars into his falsetto range, over a well organised small band backing from the Motivations. This New Jersey recording sounds as though it must have been cut in the 60s but I've an idea that the 45 itself might have been released a decade later judging by the design of it.
