Carl Queen’s Mars Le Tour label from Smyrna, GA was primarily a country concern but there were a few soul releases and pretty much every one of them is well worth finding – if you can. The Rickey Andrews one is very good as is this one by Alton Reid. There’s not much to it, just a guy musing about love over a piano/organ accompaniment but Reid’s gospel vocals are really quite affecting. And I love the minor key to the “song”. Flip is as terrible as the name might suggest.
