Goree Smith
From the town of Huntsville, TX north of Houston, comes this little gem from Goree Smith. 
Its Never Too Late is simple, direct and effective. Tonal colour is supplied by the tenor sax over a small rhythm section, and Smith’s vocals are melodic and well phrased on this self-penned tune. I love his “my my my’s” in the middle section and the harmony vocals on the chorus are a welcome surprise. A 45 that grows on you with every play.
