Tommy Starr
The melodic and catchy Better Think Of What You’re Losing which is best described as a beat ballad, was to be the sole 45 by Tommy Starr – but it is a real winner. Starr’s vocal is really well restrained behind a big orchestral arrangement full of nice touches. The uptempo “Love Wheel” is perfectly adequate but without the charm or the power of “Losing”. These very late Loma tracks were masterminded by that redoubtable behind-the-scenes music man Jesse Herring.
