Wilma Scott

This sad but ultimately upbeat tale appears to be Wilma Scott only 45, and thanks to its Latin tinged rhythm it has even had some Northern soul plays. But I think this St Louis track it merits a careful listen or two away from the dance floor as well. I like Wilma’s tone and sense of phrasing and the integration with the backing group the LaMonte’s is pretty much on the button. But best of all are the chord changes in the song, especially in the bridge.
