Kim Tamango
Kim’s percussion-heavy funk number “Not By Bread Alone” is a firm favourite of the genre and has been well anthologised. It’s OK but I think his soaring high tenor vocals are much better suited to the melodic beat ballad (Can’t Wait Until) Tomorrow. I really like the way he wails way above the female chorus and the well-arranged orchestra. Nice to see the name of that old New York reprobate George Goldner on the label as a co-producer.
UPDATE ~ Dante Carfagna writes with details of another, earlier New York 45 by Kim:-
“Can’t Wait Until Tomorrow/ Juke Box Anna” (Fun Town F-1000)"
As ever I'm very grateful to Dante for sharing his vast knowledge.
