Bobby Ward
Big voiced New York vocalist Ward only had just the one 45 to my knowledge but I Just Wasn’t Satisfied is a fine piece of urban cry balladry, well deserving of a mention in these pages. George Butcher’s production is full enough and demonstrative enough to suit the mood perfectly, and Ward does the treatment proud. Flip is a forgotten Northern soul number that does nothing for me. More info on this singer would be very welcome.

The key to the city / I just wasn’t satisfied ~ HIT 100 (60s)
Note ~ The Bobby Ward on Chicago’s Lakeside label sounds like a completely different artist to me. Can anybody else confirm?
