This guy is a different artist to the much better known Johnny White from the Carolinas but 
(It’s Your Friend) That’ll Do You Wrong well deserves its place in these pages. It is a quality ballad with tasty blues influenced chord changes, on which writer White is softly effective with a tough tone. The arrangement is classic southern soul – just right for me. The other side of this terminally obscure disc is bouncy uptempo R & B. The publishing for this 45 suggest a Florida connection – could Johnny have come from the Sunshine state?
